The Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Government awarded Stage Technologies the contract to design, supply and install a 26-axis counterweight-assist power flying system, which would be capable of switching back to their existing manual flying system when required. This meant that crucial information about winch position and load had to be maintained when switching between automated and manual systems.
It was imperative that the theatre remained in full operation throughout the renovation. This meant that Stage Technologies engineers had to work throughout the night to accommodate the timetable of continual performances and rehearsals.
