Stage Technologies off to the Palace
Two representatives from our London office visited Buckingham Palace on Monday 13th July 2009 after Stage Technologies was awarded the equivalent of a company knighthood in this year’s Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
John Hastie, Operations Director, and Marianne Jacobsen, Group Management Accountant, attended a special evening reception for the 2009 Queen’s Award winners, hosted by Her Majesty The Queen and other members of the Royal Family.
Stage Technologies won its Queen’s Award in the International Trade category in April this year and was commended for achieving outstanding trade performance and excellent year-on-year growth in a challenging economic climate. The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise exist to champion the UK’s most enterprising, creative and sustainable organisations from all business sectors.
Famous for collaboration on projects such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins, and Miss Saigon, Stage Technologies specialises in bringing the extensive benefits of automation technology to the live performance industries. Since our merger with Delstar Engineering last year, we now have manufacturing space in excess of 40,000 square feet and employ over 150 automation engineers and support staff worldwide, offering our clients an unrivalled skills pool and service. These specialist teams combine a profound understanding of complex and interconnecting mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software technologies with a strong empathy for the creative industries that we support.
After meeting the Queen, John Hastie said, “This has been an incredible day, and I wish I could have taken every single one of our dedicated staff along. We are so pleased to have been chosen for the second time for this recognition from the palace, which underscores many years of listening to our clients, learning from our mistakes and building on every success, small or great. It’s doubly gratifying to receive this award, which is an internationally recognised mark of business excellence, as our operations span the globe, benefitting small local projects such as school theatres as well as installations on a grander scale like the opera houses, casinos and cruise ships.”
